What is LEV testing and why is it required?

Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) testing — formally known as Thorough Examination and Testing (TExT) — is a legal requirement under Regulation 9 of the CoSHH Regulations 2002. Any workplace LEV system used to control exposure to substances hazardous to health must be examined and tested at least every 14 months by a competent person. The purpose is to confirm that the system is performing as designed and is adequately protecting workers.
